For jewelry or a matched selection. Specify shape, dimensions and weight per stone, plus the total number of stones required.
No approved live spinel prices are published here. The team must confirm the specific lot, unit rate and currency. Amber’s price bands and bulk discounts are not applied to spinel.
| Requested form | Possible quotation basis | Information to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Rough | Per gram, per carat or per lot | Individual piece size, total weight, piece count and the exact lot composition. |
| Faceted | Per carat, per piece or per lot | Weight and dimensions of each stone, total count and matching requirements. |
These are request options, not a fixed selling policy. 1 metric carat = 0.2 g. A piece or lot has no automatic weight conversion.
Spinel is a cubic, singly refractive gemstone with Mohs hardness 8. It has no pleochroism, but cut, inclusions and lighting still affect its appearance. Hardness measures scratch resistance; exposed edges can chip under impact.
Explore vivid red and pink, cobalt-bearing blue, lavender, grey, peach and slate tones. Jedi is a trade nickname for particularly vivid pink-to-red spinel, not a standard laboratory grade. Cobalt content alone does not establish value: assess colour, clarity, cut, size and treatment together.
Mogok and Namya in Myanmar, Luc Yen in Vietnam, Mahenge in Tanzania, Sri Lanka and Madagascar are important sources. A place name neither guarantees quality nor proves the origin of an offered stone. Request supporting evidence when origin affects the price.
Many spinels are sold without treatment, but heating, fracture filling and diffusion treatments are documented. Natural does not automatically mean untreated. Synthetic spinel also exists; ask a qualified laboratory to identify the stone and report detectable treatments rather than relying on photographs.
Grey or pastel spinel suits contemporary engagement designs; vivid red and blue can anchor a statement piece. The Black Prince’s Ruby is famously a red spinel. Spinel is an August birthstone, offering a personal gift story without any promise of investment growth.
Ask for unfiltered daylight and indoor videos, dimensions, carat weight, treatment disclosure and a report matched to the stone. Clean gently with warm soapy water; obtain specific advice for filled or fractured material. Compare complete quotations, including testing, setting and delivery.

This small seller sample is an asking-price comparison, not the whole market. Colour, cut and clarity vary. Treatment and origin are seller claims; laboratory reports have not been independently verified.

Build one lot inquiry. No payment, stock reservation or formal quotation is created here.
No. GIA states that spinel has no standard quality-grading scale. A seller’s grade needs a written description of the actual material.
No. A blue appearance alone is not evidence of cobalt content. Request appropriate supporting information rather than relying on a color label.
No. Natural versus laboratory-grown identity, detectable treatments and any origin claim must be assessed for the actual stones. Ask what an independent report covers.
There is no fixed yield used here. Ask a cutter to assess the actual rough, including its shape, fractures and intended cut.
Yes, you can state Myanmar as your preference. This does not confirm stock or geographic origin; the offered lot needs its own disclosure and supporting evidence.

Use this checklist for the actual stone or lot. Collection illustrations and general descriptions are not proof of identity, origin or availability.
Ask for current photos or video of the identified lot, with dimensions in millimeters, weight and number of pieces.
Request written disclosure of natural or laboratory-grown identity, known treatments and any origin claim. Match a report to the actual stone and verify its number with the issuing laboratory.
Confirm total price, currency, unit, delivery, taxes, payment and return terms in writing before agreeing.
For a Bangkok visit, contact the company first to confirm an appointment and the stones you wish to inspect. Bring your dimensions, budget and report requirements.
Both can suit rings. Ruby is corundum with Mohs hardness 9; spinel is a different mineral with hardness 8. Compare color in consistent light, dimensions, condition, treatment and the actual offer. A red appearance alone cannot identify the mineral.
No. Carat measures weight: 1 ct = 0.2 g. Different densities, shapes and cutting proportions give different face-up sizes. For a setting, request length × width × depth in millimeters as well as weight; for rough, ask for usable dimensions and visible fractures.
Read the scope and conclusions of that particular report. Identification, treatment findings and origin opinions are different questions. A report is not a price guarantee or proof that a seller currently has the stone. Check that the documented item matches the offer.
Prices for these collections are confirmed per lot. A gram, carat, piece or lot rate must match the material being offered. Amber price bands and bulk discounts do not apply automatically to other gemstones.
Ask the team to confirm availability, treatment disclosures, price currency, shipping and tax terms in the formal quotation.
